Learn Studio Engineering With Industry Professionals

Islington Music Workshop

Born in 1982 from the heartbeat of London’s Rock Against Racism movement, Islington Music Workshop was built by musicians for the community.

Our aim was to create a professional space for musicians in the community to engage with quality production technology, connect and gain fully accredited qualifications.

Whether you’re touching a fader for the first time or you’re a seasoned producer looking to master the SSL Duality SE, IMW is the most affordable, professional-tier training and recording environment you can find.

Learn Studio Engineering with Industry Practitioners

For over four decades, we’ve been the bridge between raw talent and industry mastery, helping musicians, engineers, and producers find their signature sounds and professional edge.

If you want to work in a professional recording studio why would you train anywhere else?

OPen Studio

Join us for an Open Studio session designed for anyone curious about audio production and studio engineering. This 90 minute session will give you insight to a real working studio. Get you inside look at our space and equipment, followed by a Live Demo where you can see real recording and production techniques in action.

Stick around for an open Q&A with our engineers to get your questions answered, plus, in some weeks, a special appearance from a Guest Musician who'll share their perspective from the artist's side of the glass.

Whether you're a beginner or already dabbling in audio engineering, this is a great chance to see a working studio in action and connect with people who love making music.

We are a professional studio and all trainees will gain experience recording with active performers
